i've waited 1 year for The Lost Symbol to come out. dan brown's new book. but to my disappointment, the publisher decided to practice price discrimination by pricing the book at 48bucks. wth. so why is this price discrimination? 

firstly, lets classify the readers into two categories: the die hard fan and normal readers like me. for the fans, since they have waited so long, they are willing to pay more than 50 bucks to buy the book. however readers lyk me only price the book at only 20 bucks. so if the publisher had decided to sell it at 30 bucks, readers like me wont buy it and they will lose 20 bucks per fan who buys it. since a firm's aim is to profit maximise, they price discriminate by selling at 48 bucks, thus maximising producer's welfare. there is consumer's welfare of 2 bucks. after a few months, the publisher will lower the price to twenty bucks so as to capture the rest of the market to maximise total revenue by selling at 20 bucks. the publisher can be said to be either a monopoly or oligopoly, thus it can practice price discrimination.

today chem lesson was interesting, mr wee was giving ne lesson half the time. everything he said made perfect sense. why our chem result so lousy. coz we nvr try. after going through tutorials, many of us just think we know already so we dun wanna try anymore. but if we have tried, i think they will still be many questions tat we dunno how to do. guess that's the diff between the top percentile and us:( so yea, morale of the story, try.

went out yesterday with my bunch of best friends, chiam dan wenxuan gay and alvin. funnnnnnn. haha when we were discussing about cts results we realised yk's one is lyk U B CDD, LOL. inside joke hahaahahahahaha. so we went cine to watch YEAR ONE, a comedy which is quite funnaye and sick. although the overall storyline abit lame, the movie was still quite nice haha. oh the movie was screened in a  76 seater theatre, damn small lol. first time watch movie at lvl 9 haha. so after the movie we went taka for lunch coz everyone dun wanna spend so much money, lol. after lunch wx left and we went to walk around ion. got lost in ion and we had a hard time locating pull and bear. oh the bag cdd wanna buy quite nice, if im bigger size i will buy too, lol. 

i've a dilemma, should i buy ipod touch or go on a shopping spree?

movie on weds, yayee.

woke up early in the morning for a run today.

met cdd at yck @ 9am and we deposited our bags at the stadium and we set off. planned to run from yck stadium to yishun stadium and back again. haha but in the end we ran there and ran back to the condo @lentor coz daryl chaim gave up as he was dying and he needed to use the toilet-.- haha so we ran lyk 6-8 km only. quite fun lol. saw a dead squashed rat on the way, disgusting ttm.

after running we went to shower at the stadium and when amk to watch gi joe. haha abit lag. but the movie was damn nice i think, dunno why it was rated 1.5 stars only hahah. cant wait for the next one.
